Haven

Landing ourselves on a larger piece of property also put us about 20+ minutes away from everything. I will often hear from my backseat, "I see hay bales, we’re almost home!"

I like to imagine the world through her eyes and think about the moments she will cherish when she thinks back on her childhood. Hay will certainly play a significant role. Kenley loves the smell of hay. She will spend hours in the barn sifting through a bale to find the strands of timothy grass that the goats love. She knows she is close to home when she sees it outside her window.

Part of our dream was to create a peaceful environment for Kenley with a goal of keeping a free-range parenting approach. Whether she grows up to prefer the peaceful country scene like this one or ends up in the heart of a city, we strive to surround her with sweet moments during her childhood. Hopefully when Kenley is off on her own, she returns to her haven often to find rest when she needs it.
